I hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
This was Mr. Muscles’ and my 18th Thanksgiving together, yet, only the second one we have ever spent at home. The last time we didn’t travel was our second year of marriage! We celebrated 16 years of marriage in May.
We have always been immensely blessed to spend Thanksgiving Day with family. There were quite a few years that meant traveling from house to house and eating Thanksgiving “dinner” multiple times. We had to plan each meal carefully during those years. Small amounts of food, a favorite dessert and only one serving of that dessert were essential! LOL
This year we hosted dinner and invited my Mom and Neil and my niece A (13). It was a wonderful smorgasboard of fried turkey, oven baked turkey, homemade gravy, stuffing, sweet potatoes casserole, tossed green salad, cranberry sauce, stuffed eggs, rolls, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, chocolate pecan pie and pumpkin cheesecake. Oh yum!!
Mr. Muscles is the cheesecake man in the family, and he made the cheesecake from scratch, and it was DE-LI-CIOUS! Let me describe it for you- pumpkin cheesecake with gingersnap cookie crust, homemade caramel drizzle and topped with his homemade whipped cream. There is nothing you can buy that comes anywhere close to his cheesecake or his whipped cream. Heaven on a plate! I am scared to see the scales at the doctor’s office tomorrow. I enjoyed way too much of the cheesecake! No regrets!!
What was on your table? Are you traditional or do you change things up a bit?
