I love cake!

Cake and I are old friends.  Chocolate cake holds a special place in my heart, but my absolute favorite is my husband’s homemade Mocha Cappuccino Cheesecake.

No matter what birthday cake will always be something I look forward to.   Not just eating them, but I enjoy making them as well.  Ms. Lovebug’s (6) birthday cake for her 5th birthday was my favorite I had made so far.  Doesn’t it just look yummy?!

Well, I have to introduce a cake that ranks right up there with Ms. Lovebug’s (6).  Here is Ms. Serious’ birthday cake for her 12th birthday.

We start with 8 half ball cakes:

Add some really cool homemade purple buttercream icing:

And viola:

Pastor T suggested a butterfly at her 16th birthday.  Ooooo, a 3-d butterfly!  Maybe she won’t think her mom is completely lame by then.  LOL!

Even though it is a lot of work, I really enjoy surprising the kids with unique birthday cakes.

My birthday is the next in our family.  I am placing my order now with hubby for one of his cheesecakes.  My hips are growing just thinking about it.  🙂

  2. LOVE that cake! It’s so creative & colorful, your kids are lucky to have a mom who spends so much time & effort to make their cakes so special.
