Tackle it Tuesday

Here is a picture of what I need to tackle today:

These are the medals and the trophy that Ms. Firecracker (7) has earned at the 4 level 2 gymnastics meets she has competed in so far this year.  I am so proud of her ya’ll.

This weekend she competed in her 4th meet.  She did marvelous.  On vault she ran strong and hard, scored a 9.35 and placed 3rd.

Her bars routine is the only one with a flub.  The actual routine was perfect but on the dismount she arched too much and landed on her tush instead of her feet.  If she had been able to stick the landing she would have gotten a 97.-9.8 and placed first.  She was disappointed but did not beat herself up about it.  She still scored a 9.0 and placed 6th.

Her beam routine was the best one she has done at a meet.  She scored 9.40 and placed 1st.

Her floor routine was right on as well.  She held each position and her round off was not wobbly.  Yah!  She scored a 9.45 and placed 1st again.

These were the first times she placed 1st.  She has placed 2nd and 3rd almost every time.

Her all around was a 37.200 and she placed 2nd.  You should have seen her face when they presented her with a trophy.  Not another medal but a trophy.  I don’t think her feet touched the ground until the next day.  LOL

Out of 42 gymnasts, ages ranging from 6 to 12, she placed 5th overall.  Her next 2 meets are in April.

Anywhooooooo, I am going to swing through our local Home Depot today and pick up some command hooks so we can hang the medals on the wall over her shelf and then clear off the top of her shelf for her ribbons and trophy.  When I get them hung up I will post a picture.

Have a happy Tackle it Tuesday and a blessed week.  What is your tackle?  Share it with everyone at 5 Min for Mom.

  1. Wow! That is awesome. My second grader loves gymnastics. It requires a lot of hard work and commitment! Way to go.

Edited by Rhen~ Yes it does. She is at the gym practicing 8-10 hours a week. She wakes up and does handstands through the house. I won’t let her do her backhandsprings though. The floor is too hard!

  2. Awwww, that is a wonderful thing!

    🙂

  3. Hey Hey! I found a fellow gymnastics mom! How exciting! I have 2 boy gymnasts. They are levels 6 and 7. And so we have 3 and 4 years worth of medals and trophys that have been neglected and in piles in boxes but I just don’t know what to do with them. There’s too many! Good for you for tackling this early…don’t let it get ahead of you!

Edited by Rhen~ Our son, Short Man (9), also is in gymnastics on the boys team. He will be competing next year. He is so excited. 🙂

  4. We will see her at the olympics!

    Good project.
