Meandering and Menu Monday

Welcome to this week’s Meandering and Menu Monday.  My menu is just below my meandering.  😉

I would love to come and visit you so please make sure your link is filled in on your comment!

Our Family’s Time with God

♥I am reading A Woman After God’s Own Heart by Elizabeth George.  I am really enjoying doing the study guide with it.  She asks a lot of great questions for you to think on.

♥Continue with prayer journal.  If you are in need of prayer you are more than welcome to leave a comment or email me.

♥Sacred Marraige bible study/ devotions with Mr. Muscles.  (I got this from CBD.  Click here to see it for yourself.)

♥Continue daily devotions with the kids (these lead to such intense and fantastic discussions!)

My Must Do List (this list is beyond my normal cleaning, laundry, homeschooling and such)

♥We have made great strides on the pasture fence.  I have to get 4to 5 more bags of concrete and eight 6 1/2 foot t-posts

♥There are two more holes to dig (for now) and 4 big posts left to get in the ground.

♥Till the big garden and then start planting a few of the cool weather crops in the garden.

♥I have found even more stuff that I can move out to the upper shed and get them out of my way in here.

♥I have one more crepe myrtle to transplant as well as my blackberries and 1 blueberry bush and get 8 new groundcover plants planted on the hillside by the driveway.

♥Turn in good soil, manure and compost to the front gate gardens.  These are decorative gardens but will make our front entrance look great.

♥Start building the rock border to the herb garden by the upper shed.

♥Clean and disinfect the incubator then get a new batch of eggs going

♥Move the new chicks to the big brooder box.

Cleaning Zone

♥My zone this week (again) is the dining room.  I am participating in Organizing Junkie’s Organizing Round Up and March is dining room month.  Our dining room is also our homeschooling room which means all of the teacher’s books, papers, books, and such that I need are usually in piles on the floor or covering my end of the table.  I now have a plan in motion to organize and clean up this area!  Woo Hoo!!  )  This is my last week of the dining room being my zone.  It is almost done!  You can tune in next Tuesday to see what I did.  There will, of course, be pictures!

Homeschooling This Week (in addition to our normal schedule)

♥We have several art projects we are doing this week.  It is so beautiful outside that we are taking the easels out there to do some landscape pictures.  One of them they can use brushes on and the other they can only use their fingers.

♥Spring time scavenger hunt outdoors.  This has to be one of their favorites to do.  🙂

♥This week also I am going to get the rough draft of our spring field trips together.  The other homeschool parents and I have come up with some great ideas and I am going to correlate them with the lessons we are working on.  A few are ceramics class, gold mines, museum, waterfall and state park.

For more Meandering Mondays head over to Tiany’s to check it all out and join in!  )

Here is our menu for the next week.

♥Crock pit Curry chicken and rice with fresh sliced veggies.

♥Breakfast with scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, sausage gravy and pancakes.

♥BBQ chicken stew (I didn’t get to cook this one last week so I am moving to this week).

   ♥Chicken fajitas with refried beans.

♥Meatloaf, roasted potatoes and fresh veggies.

♥ Sloppy joes with corn, green beans and salad.

♥Mr. Muscles treats us to dinner out on Saturday night.  No cleaning up!!  )

All recipes are homemade with fresh ingredients and I am more than happy to share my recipes.  If you have any recipes for the above dinners please share them in a comment.  I am always looking for new ways to prepare our favorites! ) If you ask for a recipe please tune in for next week’s MM and I will post all requested recipes here.

  1. Chicken is my favorite meat, so I’d love to know how you do your chicken fajitas!

(By the way, I just launched a new blog: Homeschooling for the Real World at The tagline is “Teach your kids the skills they need for the real world. More than just the three R’s.”)

  2. Ooops! It would help if I left the correct link:

  3. Your menu sounds great, and your week sounds busy! Have a blessed Easter.
