Hugs and blessings to ya!  Here is today’s thought.

I absolutely love this post so please take a moment to go check it out.

My thoughts today are on discrimination.  You don’t have to be a woman, physically disabled, a minority or poor to be discriminated against.  Everyone deals with discrimination at one time or another.  Some people deal with it more often and some more intensely.   Some people are discriminated against for having a large family, some for having one child, some for living in a poorer area, some for the clothes their wear, some for the lifestyle they choose and so much more.  Who out there does not or has not EVER discriminated against someone else?  Not one person on this earth with the one exception of Christ.  That’s it.  Not only did He not discriminate but rather He reached out to those others trampled down.  He lifted up the people who others tried to stone.  He loved those others deemed unloveable.  If each day we make the commitment to actively look to reach out to someone we do not agree with then the world is just a little better.  What if we not only challenge ourselves but our friends and loved ones to do so as well?  What if they challenged the other people in their lives to do the same?  Wouldn’t the results be awesome???!!!!  Who cares what gender you are?  Who cares what shade your skin is?  Who cares how much money you do or do not have?  We are all created and loved by God.  We are all brothers and sisters in Christ.  I personally am looking forward to the gigantic and amazing family reunion we will one day have.  If you don’t know about it then I invite to talk to someone who has a personal relationship with God to get your reservation.  The more, the merrier baby!!!

God Bless!

‘Mom’ and ‘Dad’ banished by California
Schwarzenegger signs law banning anything perceived as negative to ‘gays’

“Mom and Dad” as well as “husband and wife” have been banned from California schools under a bill signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who with his signature also ordered public schools to allow boys to use girls restrooms and locker rooms, and vice versa, if they choose.

“We are shocked and appalled that the governor has blatantly attacked traditional family values in California,” said Karen England, executive director of Capitol Resource Institute.

“With this decision, Gov. Schwarzenegger has told parents that their values are irrelevant. Many parents will have no choice but to pull their children out of the public schools that have now become sexualized indoctrination centers.”

“Arnold Schwarzenegger has delivered young children into the hands of those who will introduce them to alternative sexual lifestyles,” said Randy Thomasson, president of Campaign for Children and Families, which worked to defeat the plans. “This means children as young as five years old will be mentally molested in school classrooms.

“Shame on Schwarzenegger and the Democrat politicians for ensuring that every California school becomes a homosexual-bisexual-transsexual indoctrination center,” he said.

Analysts have warned that schools across the nation will be impacted by the decision, since textbook publishers must cater to their largest purchaser, which often is California, and they will be unlikely to go to the expense of having a separate edition for other states.

The bills signed by Schwarzenegger include SB777, which bans anything in public schools that could be interpreted as negative toward homosexuality, bisexuality and other alternative lifestyle choices.

There are no similar protections for students with traditional or conservative lifestyles and beliefs, however.

“SB 777 will result in reverse discrimination against students with religious and traditional family values,” said Meredith Turney, legislative liaison for Capitol Resource Institute. “These students have lost their voice as the direct result of Gov. Schwarzenegger’s unbelievable decision. The terms ‘mom and dad’ or ‘husband and wife’ could promote discrimination against homosexuals if a same-sex couple is not also featured.

“Parents want the assurance that when their children go to school they will learn the fundamentals of reading, writing and arithmetic – not social indoctrination regarding alternative sexual lifestyles. Now that SB777 is law, schools will in fact become indoctrination centers for sexual experimentation,” she said.

Also signed was AB394, which targets parents and teachers for such indoctrination through “anti-harassment” training, CCF said.

Schwarzenegger had vetoed almost identical provisions a year ago, saying existing state law already provided for penalties for discrimination.

“We had hoped that the governor would once again veto this outrageous legislation but he obviously decided to side with the out-of-touch extremists that control the legislature. This law does not reflect the true values of the average Californian,” said England. “True leadership means standing up for what is true and right.”

Thomasson said SB777 prohibits any “instruction” or school-sponsored “activity” that “promotes a discriminatory bias” against “gender” – the bill’s definition includes cross-dressing and sex changes – as well as “sexual orientation.”

“Because no textbook or instruction in California public schools currently disparages transsexuality, bisexuality, or homosexuality, the practical effect of SB777 will be to require positive portrayals of these sexual lifestyles at every government-operated school,” CCF noted.

Offenders will face the wrath of the state Department of Education, up to and including lawsuits.

CCF noted that now on a banned list will be any text, reference or teaching aid that portrays marriage as only between a man and woman, materials that say people are born male or female (and not in between), sources that fail to include a variety of transsexual, bisexual and homosexual historical figures, and sex education materials that fail to offer the option of sex changes.

Further, homecoming kings now can be either male or female – as can homecoming queens, and students, whether male or female, must be allowed to use the restroom and locker room corresponding to the sex with which they choose to identify.

AB394 promotes the same issues through state-funded publications, postings, curricula and handouts to students, parents and teachers.

It also creates the circumstances where a parent who says marriage is only for a man and a woman in the presence of a lesbian teacher could be convicted of “harassment,” and a student who believes people are born either male or female could be reported as a “harasser” by a male teacher who wears women’s clothes, CCF said.

Thomasson said Schwarzenegger also signed AB14, which prohibits state funding for any program that does not support a range of alternative sexual practices, including state-funded social services run by churches.

Affected will be day cares, preschool or after-school programs, food and housing programs, senior services, anti-gang efforts, jobs programs and others.

Thomasson said it also forces every hospital in California – even private, religious hospitals – to adopt policies in support of transsexuality, bisexuality, and homosexuality and opens up nonprofit organizations to lawsuits if they exclude members that engage in homosexual, bisexual, or transsexual conduct.

“It’s the height of intolerance to punish individuals, organizations, businesses, and churches that have moral standards on sexual conduct and sexual lifestyles,” said Thomasson, in response to the signing of AB14. “This is another insensitive law that violates people’s moral boundaries.”

The vitriol over the issue rose to new levels in its latest campaign.

As WND reported, a board member for the homosexual advocacy group Equality California verbally attacked and threatened CRI for its opposition to the bill earlier.

The board member sent an e-mail and video to CRI threatening the group would be buried if it continued efforts opposing the homosexual advocacy.

“The shocking hate mail we received shows that those behind this legislation do not promote true tolerance,” said England. “Only politically correct speech will be tolerated. Those with religious or traditional moral beliefs will not be allowed to express their opinions in public schools.”

It amazes me that anyone would allow their children to attend government schools who constantly are shoving homosexual, political and religious agendas down the throats of children and their parents.   Isn’t tolerance supposed to go BOTH ways??  Sadly all of this indoctrination reaches to private schools, private hospitals and so much more.  These same schools are working very hard to take the influence of the parents out of their childrens lives.  Please read the rest of the article and you are more than welcome to forward it on to anyone you so choose.

For this Thankful Thursday I am focusing on my bible.  I am so thankful to live in a country where I am free to worship the one true and living God.  I am thankful I can go to church and learn and fellowship and pray without it having to be in secrecy.  I am thankful to have found a good, non-denominational, bibile-based church locally!

Please remember to pray for the children of God around the world who are being persecuted for their faith!

FAITH UNDER FIRE
36 church members disappear, 1 returns
Minister warns of increased persecution of Christians

Three dozen members of one Christian church in Iraq disappeared over the course of a week, and only one returned, according to a minister who is warning of the increase of persecution of Christians in that violence-ridden nation.

The warning from Rev. Canon Andrew White is being reported by Voice of the Martyrs, the ministry to persecuted Christians around the world.

VOM cited an interview with White on CBNNews.com in which the Anglican minister from Baghdad was describing the conditions for Iraqi Christians for a committee on religious freedom. He said kidnappings, torture and executions of Christians are rising.

He also noted the people’s desire for Christ sometimes is overwhelming. The small church he leads in Baghdad was small, but has exploded to an attendance of more than 1,300 recently.

It is an Anglican church, and none of my people are Anglicans,” he said. “They simply some to church because it is the closest church to come to in the midst of great danger.”

But White said the conditions have deteriorated at an increasing pace in the past few months, and it’s sometimes hard to quantify the extent of the persecution. But he said he asked members of his congregation for their perspective on the situation.

“Things are bad for everybody in Iraq. I said them (church members); tell me what has happened over the past week. And the people went through what had happened and I realized that 36 of my congregation in that past week [had] been kidnapped,” White said. Only one was returned.

During his testimony before the commission, he said although Christianity has been present in Iraq from the “foundation” of the faith – ever since Thomas stopped off in Nineveh and converted the people of the city to Christianity – none of its historic tribulations compares to the troubles today.

“In the past few months many Christians have had to leave their places of residence, especially in Dora on the outskirts of Baghdad,” he said. “In Dora, many people were threatened with death if they did not convert to Islam or pay large sums [in Islamic tax]. There are now hundreds of Christians living in churches in Baghdad, where the provision of food and water is becoming increasingly difficult.”

As WND has reported, radical Islamists in the region have been documented to be using a video of an actual beheading to terrorize Christians into leaving.

“In the past few months Christians have become a specific target,” he said. “They have become targets of murder, kidnapping and torture. Sadly, there are multiple examples of this. Thirty-six of my own congregation have been kidnapped. To date, only one has been returned.”

The reasons given for the attacks including not being Muslim, and belonging to a Western religion, even though that is not accurate, he said.

He said a safe zone with adequate supplies of food and water and the right to worship all are essential basics that should be provided. He said the conflicts continue to push Muslims toward a sense of despair with a renewal in religious observance as well as “increased aggression towards local Christians.” He said it also generates a perception that the “West or Israel is response for all problems.”

Michael Youash, the project director for the Iraq Sustainable Democracy Project, also spoke to the commission, thanking the United States first “for the sacrifices … in liberating Iraq.”

“As a human rights and democracy activist and analyst I would not even be able to return there had Saddam’s tyrannical regime not been removed. Indeed, none of us here today would be able to dream of a brighter future if it were not for Saddam Hussein’s demise.”

But he said the instability that remains leaves religious minorities such as Christians and Jews trapped in a “nightmare.”

“This nightmare we are trying to escape in northern Iraq is not like that of Dora/Baghdad, Mosul, Basra and other major urban centers, where full-out ethnic and sectarian cleansing is taking place,” he said. But even the northern Iraq, a relatively moderate area for religious minorities, the situation includes “minority persecution, government heavy-handedness, and the implementation of prejudicial policies with impunity.”

He said is isn’t feasible “to list each incident of cold-blooded murder, assassination, land theft, illegal land seizure, official discrimination, summary detention, arbitrary arrest … committed with impunity.”

He described the situation there as “soft ethnic cleansing,” he said.

Christians ‘Shot on Sight’ in Laos Crackdown

By Jeff M. Sellers
Compass Direct News
August 7, 2007

CWN.com - LOS ANGELES - Soldiers, police and others have killed at least 13 Christians in Laos in the past month in a swarming crackdown on Hmong villagers falsely accused of stirring rebel dissent, sources told Compass.

In the sweep, encouraged by communist village leaders and others who have falsely accused the Christians of being separatist rebels, authorities have arrested and imprisoned about 200 members of a 1,900-strong Laos Evangelical Church in Ban Sai Jarern village, Bokeo province in northwestern Laos.

The hunted Christians are largely Hmong refugees who had fled persecution in Vietnam. Those killed include Hmong who went into hiding when joint forces of Vietnamese and Lao police began rounding up Christians falsely accused of supporting Gen. Vang Pao in August 2006.

Among those killed last month was Neng Mua, a Christian who slipped back to his native Fay village after hiding in the mountains from the police round-up. On July 7 he went to a local villager’s house to beg for food, but his one-time friend instead shot him dead as a suspected member of the “liberation army,” a Christian source said.

Police have searched intensively for Christians in rice fields and mountains and are shooting them on sight, said the source, who requested anonymity.

“Many Christians were killed and badly injured,” he said. “Women and children were arrested and sent to prison.”
